Resting
by The Worths

Dear Bredows,
We loved our stay at your place! It was the best family kickoff to our summer, complete with many walks to the lake to skip stones and play on the playground. We ate enormous pancakes up the street (per your recc!) and took a daytrek into Big Bear where we bought some art and ate ice cream.
The kids loved making s’mores by the fire and Daddy practiced guitar while Mommy quilted in the evenings. We are so grateful for our peaceful days and nights at the cabin.
Thank you and we hope to visit again in 2011, if you’ll have us!
We (The Cooks) were able to go up to the cabin for 2 fun days with The Bredows on May 30th and 31st! We had a great time hanging out at the cabin. We went on the Interpretive Trail walk and had a fun time. The park was also a big hit. The kids loved it and want to go back very soon! It is always such a blessing to have time away with great friends! Thank you so much for sharing your place with us!!

We had been eager to take the cousins up to the Cabin at Mountainaire and enjoy sometime roughing it around the pool table. We were only able to come for a Saturday and part of Sunday, but time seemed to slow down for our trip and we definitely enjoyed the getaway.
Saturday we took the cousins to the Moonridge Zoo. Initially we were concerned that our hard earned money had been spent in vain, but the kids in particular enjoyed their time there. The older ones and the dads stayed for the feeding tour, which was legitimately entertaining. We learned that wolf urine smells like skunk, raccoons prefer egg yolks to egg whites, and that our children think watching a bald eagle disembowel a rat is disgusting.
Let’s talk about food. Saturday night we went to BLT’s – the bacon cheeseburger that I ate blew my mind. It’s worth going back just for that. In the morning we waited for the Grizzly Manor Cafe. The pancakes, as advertised, are bigger than your head. The kids haven’t stopped talking about it since.
We enjoyed good company, good food, and had a relaxing and comfortable time at the cabin. The cousins had a great time together, Luke spent some quality time with DoggyZabba, and the dads (and Luke) got a chance to play some much needed Playstation hockey.
We can’t wait to go back.

BigZabba had her first skiing experience this weekend. She was very excited about all the “stuff” that goes along with skiing. She loved the pants, buying new gloves, and she thought she was so cool in her sunglasses. When it came to actually skiing she was very hesitant at first, but after relaxing she had a good time. Her last fall in the snow gave her a pretty nasty ice burn and with that she called it quits for the day. However she hasn’t ruled out going again. In all father & daughter had a great morning on the slopes.
